Comme l'indique son certificat d'origine délivré par Alfa Romeo, cette voiture est une rare Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce, type 101.18, de couleur rouge et vendue initialement à Francfort, en Allemagne. Elle y est restée et a rejoint en 2020 la collection de Fritz Neuser dont l'atelier a ensuite entrepris une importante remise en état, avec des travaux totalisant plus de 30 000 euros. Aujourd'hui, sa présentation est à la hauteur de sa rareté, avec une superbe carrosserie dans sa teinte d'origine et un habitacle impeccable, avec sellerie en simili et tableau de bord en tôle peinte équipé d'un autoradio Blaupunkt. Le compteur gradué jusqu'à 220 km/h correspond bien à une authentique Veloce et le numéro de châssis est frappé comme il se doit sur la caisse côté passager.

La Giulia Spider, qui reprenait la forme de la précédente Giulietta mais avec un moteur 1600, a été lancée en 1962 en attendant l'arrivée du Spider 1600 Duetto. Ce modèle a été complété en 1964 par une version plus puissante, la Giulia Spider Veloce, dont le moteur recevait deux carburateurs et développait 113 ch : elle pouvait atteindre 180 km/h. Beaucoup plus rare que la version normale, elle constituait l'ultime aboutissement de la série des Spider Pininfarina nés en 1955, véritables archétypes des sportives italiennes du renouveau d'après-guerre. As can be seen from its certificate of origin issued by Alfa Romeo, this is a rare Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce, type 101.18, finished in red and first sold in Frankfurt, in Germany. It remained there and became part of Fritz Neuser’s collection in 2020; his workshop then carried out a major restoration of the car, with the work costing more than 30,000 euros. Today, it is as beautifully presented as it is rare, with magnificent bodywork in its original colour and an impeccable interior, with leatherette upholstery and a painted metal dashboard, equipped with a Blaupunkt radio. The speedometer, reading up to 220km/h, corresponds to that fitted to a genuine Veloce, and the chassis number is correctly stamped on the passenger side of the bodyshell.

 

The Giulia Spider, which had the same styling as the previous Giulietta but a 1600cc engine, was launched in 1962 before the Spider 1600 Duetto arrived. A more powerful version was added in 1964, the Giulia Spider Veloce: with a twin-carburettor engine developing 113bhp, this was capable of reaching 180km/h. Much rarer than the regular version, it was the ultimate development of the series of Pininfarina Spiders that had begun in 1955, the archetypal Italian sports cars of the post-war revival.
