Achetée en 2007 par un collectionneur basé sur le bassin d'Arcachon à un spécialiste parisien réputé, cette belle Type E Série 1 venait probablement d’Arizona, ce qui explique qu'elle avait été bien préservée d'origine. Au début des années 2000 elle a été repeinte et son habitacle a bénéficié d'une réfection intégrale. Aujourd'hui très saine dans sa teinte rouge d'origine, elle présente des panneaux de carrosserie bien alignés, sans trace de corrosion, réhaussés par des jantes à rayons chromées. A l'intérieur, la sellerie en cuir beige légèrement patiné est en très bon état de présentation, de même que le tableau de bord et le volant bois. Dans son ensemble, le bel aménagement intérieur ne présente pas de défaut notable et constitue une véritable invitation au voyage. Le compteur est resté celui d’origine en miles.
Utilisée régulièrement et bénéficiant d'un entretien suivi, cette Type E est équipée de son moteur d'origine (numéros concordants), avec un collecteur d'échappement spécial et un ventilateur additionnel débrayable. Elle a fait l'objet en 2025 d'une importante révision dont le coût a totalisé 6 000 €, avec notamment des interventions sur l'embrayage et l'échappement, en plus des opérations habituelles de vidange des fluides et de vérifications. Il s'agit d'une des versions les plus recherchées de la Type E, sous sa forme la plus pure avec ses phares profilés. Dans son bel état de préservation, le coupé que nous présentons est un hommage à la qualité de ce modèle qui avait fait sensation lors de sa présentation en 1961 au Salon de Genève, annonçant un succès qui ne s'est jamais démenti.

Bought in 2007 by a collector based in the Arcachon Bay from a renowned Parisian specialist, this beautiful Series 1 E-Type probably came from Arizona, which would explain that it had been well preserved from new. At the start of the 2000s, it was repainted and the interior was completely restored. It is now in very sound condition, finished in its original shade of red with well-aligned body panels and no sign of corrosion, set off by chrome wire wheels. Inside, the lightly patinated beige leather upholstery is in excellent condition, as are the dashboard and wood-rimmed steering wheel. Altogether, the interior presents no significant faults and is truly an invitation to set off on a trip. The speedometer still reads in miles per hour.
Used and maintained regularly, this E-Type has its original (matching numbers) engine, with a special exhaust manifold and an additional, switchable fan. In 2025, it underwent a major service at a total cost of 6000 €, with work done on the clutch and exhaust, as well as the usual fluid changes and checks. This is one of the most sought-after versions of the E-Type, with the purest shape thanks to its streamlined headlamps. In well-preserved condition, the coupé we are presenting is a tribute to the quality of this model, which created a sensation when it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, heralding a success which has never faltered.
