Réalisé sur la base d'un Renault Trafic, ce concept car Data Space s'intéresse au transport d'une clientèle d'affaires. Le compartiment avant, avec séparation, est réservé au chauffeur et aux bagages alors que l'arrière, accessible par une porte coulissante électrique, est un véritable salon roulant, élégant, raffiné et doté d'un sol en parquet ! Prévu pour quatre personnes avec un sofa en arc de cercle, il est équipé de vitres teintées et d'un hublot de toit laissant pénétrer la lumière, en plus d'équipements de communication et de détente (nous dirions aujourd'hui "d'infotainment") particulièrement sophistiqués pour l'époque, avec connexion Bluetooth et système de navigation Carminat. On y trouve même une fontaine à eau, et un dispositif spécial permet de visionner des DVD sur la télévision numérique sur la vitre de séparation chauffeur. Le hayon arrière est remplacé par une lunette fixe et une porte qui se lève sur un petit coffre.

Équipé d'un moteur 1.9 dCi, ce minibus haut de gamme et à la belle finition est en excellent état de conservation. S'agissant d'un concept car, il n'est pas immatriculable pour la route.

Based on a Renault Trafic, the Data Space concept car was intended to provide transport for business customers. The front compartment, with a division, is reserved for the driver and for luggage, while the rear compartment, entered via an electric sliding door, is a true lounge on wheels: elegant, refined and fitted with parquet flooring! Intended for four passengers with a semi-circular sofa, it has tinted windows and a skylight in the roof to let in light, as well as communications and leisure equipment (what we would now call ‘infotainment’) which was particularly sophisticated for the time, with Bluetooth connectivity and a Carminat navigation system. There is even a water dispenser, while a special device enables passengers to watch DVDs on the digital TV integrated into the glass division behind the driver. The tailgate has been replaced by a fixed rear window and a door below it giving access to a small boot.

Powered by a 1.9 dCi engine, this beautifully finished, upmarket minibus remains in excellent condition. As a concept car, it cannot be registered for use on the road.
