Ce Combi est à l’origine un modèle 231, modifié en désirable version Samba 23 fenêtres « Luxe ». Mis en circulation en 1963 au Brésil, il a bénéficié d’une restauration entre 2023 et 2024 avant d’être importé en France. La carrosserie a été repeinte dans une traditionnelle livrée bicolore et les soubassements ont été remis en état avant d’être repeints. Les trains roulants ont également été remis en état. La sellerie a été entièrement restaurée en drap et simili. En outre, la mécanique (moteur 1200 numéroté et boîte de vitesses) a été déposée, nettoyée et contrôlée avant remontage. Les jantes sont chaussées de pneumatiques datant de 2024 et dans un état proche du neuf. Il est aisé de comprendre l’engouement pour ces Combi, avec leurs habitacles lumineux, leurs larges toits ouvrants et leur capacité de 9 places permettant de partager avec le plus grand nombre les joies de ce van devenu iconique. 1963 Volkswagen Kombi T1

 

This Kombi was originally a 231 model and has been converted into the sought-after Samba 23-window “Luxo” version. First registered in 1963 in Brazil, it was restored from 2023–2024 before being imported into France. The body was repainted in a traditional duotone finish and the underbody restored before being repainted. The running gear was also overhauled. The upholstery has been completely retrimmed in cloth and leatherette. In addition, the 1200 engine and the gearbox were removed, cleaned and checked before being reassembled. The wheels have tyres from 2024 in near-new condition. It is easy to understand the enthusiasm for these Kombis, with their bright interiors, large sunroofs and room for nine, making it possible to share with as many people as possible the joys of this now iconic van.
