Avec sa ligne d'une grande élégance signée Pininfarina, la Ferrari 250 GT Lusso ("luxe") est une des plus belles Ferrari jamais produites. Faisant partie de la grande famille des 250 GT, avec son excellent V12 de 3 litres, elle est à la fois sophistiquée et fiable. Sorte de version assagie de la très sportive 250 GT "châssis court", elle présente un aménagement exclusif qui lui est propre, avec ses gros compteurs au centre, et un luxe de finition qui en fait une Grand Tourisme de grande classe. De plus, elle est d'une grande rareté : la production s'est limitée à 351 exemplaires.

 

Selon le rapport du spécialiste Marcel Massini et le ‘Vehicle Production Data’ de Ferrari Classiche, cette 250 GT Lusso sort d'usine le 27 novembre 1963 et, le 4 décembre suivant, un certificat d'origine est établi par Ferrari. Elle est ensuite livrée neuve le 12 décembre 1963 au concessionnaire officiel Gastone Crepaldi Automobili, de Milan, en Italie, qui la vend le même jour à son premier propriétaire, Salvatore Consolo, de Milan, au prix de 5 750 000 lires. Elle est de couleur "Grigio Argento" (référence 18.940 M Italver), avec une sellerie "Pelle Rossa" (référence VM3171). Immatriculée le 9 janvier sous le numéro "MI 857920", elle fait l'objet d'une révision le 11 juin à l'usine Ferrari, alors que le compteur affiche 13 310 km. Le 23 juillet 1963, elle est vendue par l'intermédiaire de Dino Armando Pedrino à son deuxième propriétaire, Dario Ferrari, de Milan, pour 3 500 000 lires. L'année suivante, elle traverse l’Atlantique vers les États-Unis et, au début des années 70, entre les mains de John Levy, d'Arlington.

Entre cette époque et la fin des années 90, elle connait plusieurs propriétaires américains et, en 2002, elle est proposée à la vente dans une annonce publiée dans la Ferrari Market Letter par le spécialiste Mike Sheehan, où elle y est présentée noire avec sellerie noire.

En 2002, elle revient en Europe pour être vendue le 14 janvier 2003 au collectionneur allemand Karl-Gustav Diederichs, de Remsheid, par l'intermédiaire d'Uwe Meissner, de Modena Motorsport, établissement basé à Langenfeld, près de Düsseldorf.

Entre 2005 et 2009, elle est vue aux journées circuit organisées en juin au Nürburgring par Modena Motorsport et, en juillet 2006, Diederichs prend part au Tour Inter-Europa et au Concours d'Élégance à côté du Nürburgring.

 

En 2003, après son achat, notre Lusso fait l'objet d'une restauration complète par Modena Motorsport, comme en atteste une facture totalisant plus de 178 000 € de travaux. La mécanique est complètement refaite et, dans l'habitacle, toutes les pièces et garnitures usées ou abîmées sont restaurées ou remplacées. Les chromes sont vérifiés ou refaits et la carrosserie est repeinte de couleur rouge, "Rosso Pininfarina". D'autres factures de 2010 montrent que la voiture appartenait encore à cette époque à KH Diederichs, avant qu'il ne la cède peu après à un autre collectionneur allemand, Ilka Seekamp, de Brême. C'est lui qui, a à son tour l’a vendue en décembre 2020 au propriétaire actuel. Il la fait réviser en février 2021 (le compteur affichait 57 701 km), puis repeindre dans sa magnifique teinte actuelle « Grigio Sfumato Metalizzato » (une facture de quelque 30 000 € en témoigne dans le dossier).

 

Cette splendide 250 GT Lusso se trouve aujourd’hui dans un état époustouflant, montrant la haute qualité de la restauration chez Modena Motorsport. Cette superbe Lusso est accompagnée de sa documentation historique est équipée de sa carrosserie et de sa mécanique d'origine. L’inspection et toutes les photographies pour la certification Ferrari Classiche ont été réalisées et, validées par l’usine. Ne reste plus qu’à attendre le fameux Red Book qui sera transmis à l’acheteur dès réception. Un essai sur route a été réalisé et nous a permis de prendre toute l’ampleur de la restauration. Son comportement routier est exemplaire, absorbant les défauts de la chaussée avec une parfaite assise, le moteur montant dans les tours de manière franche et agile. Utilisée avec parcimonie et affichant une authenticité indiscutable, il s'agit d'une magnifique représentante de cette Ferrari rare et recherchée, qui mêle luxe, élégance et sportivité dans un savant cocktail dont seule la marque au cheval cabré avait le secret.

Elegantly designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso (“luxury”) is one of the most beautiful Ferrari cars ever made. Part of the great 250 GT family and powered by an excellent 3-litre V12 engine, it is both sophisticated and reliable. As a toned-down version of the very sporty 250 GT “short wheelbase”, it features its own unique layout with large gauges in the middle and a luxurious finish, making it a high-class Grand Tourer. Furthermore, this specific model is extremely rare and only 351 examples were produced.

According to the report by specialist Marcel Massini and Ferrari Classiche’s Vehicle Production Data, this 250 GT Lusso left the factory on the 27th November 1963 and on the 4th December, a certificate of authentication was issued by Ferrari. It was then delivered new on the 12th December 1963 to the official dealership Gastone Crepaldi Automobili in Milan (Italy), who sold it the same day to its first owner Salvatore Consolo from Milan for 5,570,000 lira. It was delivered in “Grigio Argento” colour (reference 18.940 M Italver), combined with “Pelle Rossa” upholstery (reference VM3171). Registered on the 9th January under the number “MI 857920”, it had a service carried out at the Ferrari factory on the 11th June when the mileage was displaying 13,310 km on the odometer.

On the 23rd July 1963, it was sold through Dino Armando Pedrino to its second owner, Dario Ferrari from Milan for 3,500,000 lira. The following year, it crossed the Atlantic to the United States and in the early 1970s, it was acquired by John Levy of Arlington.

Between then and the late 1990s, it had several American owners; in 2002, It was listed for sale in an advertisement published in the Ferrari Market Letter by specialist Mike Sheehan, where it was presented in black with black upholstery. It returned to Europe in 2002, where it was sold on the 14th January 2003 to a German collector called Karl-Gustav Diederichs of Remseid by the intermediate of Uwe Meissner of Modena Motorsport, based in Langenfeld near Dusseldorf.

Between 2005 and 2009, it was seen at track day events organised in the month of June by Modena Motorsport; and in July 2006, Diederichs took part in the Inter-Europa Tour and the Concours d’Elegance near the Nurburgring

Following its purchase in 2003, this particular Lusso had a full restoration carried out by Modena Motorsport, as evidenced by an invoice totalling more than €178,000. The engine had a complete rebuild and inside, all worn / damaged parts and trim were restored or replaced. The chrome was checked or redone; the bodywork was repainted in “rosso Pininfarina”. Other invoices from 2010 indicate that the car was still owned by KH Diederichs at that time, before selling shortly after to another German collector, Ilka Seekamp from Bremen. It was the latter who then sold it in December 2020 to the current owner. He had it serviced in February 2021 (mileage showing 57,701 km) and then repainted in its current stunning colour “Grigio Sfumato Metalizzato” (evidenced by an invoice of around €30,000 included in the file).

 

This incredible 250 GT Lusso is today in stunning condition, reflecting the high quality of the restoration at Modena Motorsport. This superb Lusso is accompanied by its historical documentation and is fitted with its original bodywork and engine. The Inspection and all photographs for the Ferrari Classiche certification were carried out and validated by the factory. The famous Red Book is currently being printed and will be handed over to the buyer upon receipt. A test drive was carried out on the road and enabled us to fully appreciate the extent of the restoration. Its road handling is truly exemplary and absorbs road imperfections with great poise; as for the engine, it climbs through the revs with impressive smoothness and agility. Carefully driven and displaying an indisputable authenticity, this is a magnificent representative of a rare and highly sought-after Ferrari which is able to blend luxury, elegance, and sportiness in the unique way that only the Prancing Horse could deliver.
