Ce clip Soleil illustre l’engouement pour l’exotisme qui apparaît à partir des années 1960 et que la maison Van Cleef & Arpels explore durant les années 1970. À l’instar des créations d’inspiration orientale ou africaine, la Maison puise également dans la richesse de l’imagerie précolombienne. La versatilité des clips-pendentifs et des sautoirs transformables témoigne ainsi de la créativité de cette période, marquée par l’association de l’or avec des pierres aux couleurs éclatantes et aux volumes audacieux.

This ‘Sun’ clip exemplifies the fascination with the exotic that emerged from the 1960s and which Van Cleef & Arpels explored during the 1970s. As with its creations inspired by the East or Africa, the House also drew on the rich imagery of pre-Columbian cultures. The versatility of the pendant clips and convertible long necklaces thus reflects the creativity of this period, characterised by the combination of gold with stones in vibrant colours and bold proportions.
