La caisse légère de la 1600-2, bien que renforcée, héritait du moteur 1 990 cm3 de 100 ch. La BMW 2002 était appelée à un bel avenir, et BMW lui appliquera scrupuleusement les recettes qui ont fait le succès de la 1600-2. Rapidement dotée de moteurs plus performants, la 2002 deviendra en peu de temps une voiture culte des années 1970, notamment grâce à l'apparition du modèle 2002ti (2 carburateurs double-corps - 120 ch) dès la fin 68, remplacée en 1971 par la 2002tii (Injection Kugelfischer - 130 ch) et suivie de la sulfureuse 2002 turbo (Injection et turbo KKK - 170 ch). Le modèle présenté a été vendu neuf en Italie selon les recherches du propriétaire actuel qui en a fait l'acquisition auprès d'un professionnel qui venait de la restaurer, München Classics, spécialiste de la marque munichoise. Il est très difficile aujourd'hui de trouver une Tii et qui plus est dans l'état de celle-ci dont un examen visuel nous a permis de constater un travail sérieux. La baie moteur est splendide. L'intérieur est très beau, avec ses sièges en velours bleu marine impeccables. Le volant n'est pas d'origine mais l'original sera livré avec. Modèle rare, très performant et agréable à conduire, voire piloter, cette voiture rendra heureux son futur propriétaire. The lightweight body of the 1600-2, albeit reinforced, was given the new 1990cc engine developing 100bhp. The BMW 2002 was destined for a bright future, and BMW went on to apply all the learnings from the successful 1600-2. Equipped with more and more powerful engines, the 2002 became a cult car of the 1970s, mainly thanks to the appearance of the 2002ti (two twin-choke carburetors with 120bhp) from late 1968, and replaced in 1971 by the 2002tii (Kugelfischer fuel injection, and 130bhp), and finally followed by the amazing 2002 Turbo (fuel injection and KKK turbos, for 170bhp). The model on offer was sold new in Italy, as per the research of the current owner, who acquired it from a professional, München Classics, a specialist of the Munich brand, and who had just restored the car. It is very difficult today to find a Tii, and what's more, in the state that this car is in, one that has seen some serious work. The engine bay is in a splendid state. The interior is very beautiful, with impeccable navy blue velvet seats. The steering wheel is not original, but the original will be delivered with the car.
