Fondateur, en 1984, du groupe de peintres Nuklé-Art et du groupe de musique électro punk Les Envahisseurs, Kriki incarne la culture punk dans l’art contemporain français. Avec la rue et le métro comme école d’art, il a participé, dès 1984 à l’éclosion de ce que l’on nomme aujourd’hui le Street Art. 

Dès ses débuts, Kriki a été identifié comme une des figures emblématiques de la peinture française des années 80. Kriki a su imposer alors un style immédiatement identifiable sur la scène internationale faisant de lui un des artistes majeurs de sa génération.

En 1985 Kriki invente le Fuzz, un personnage imaginaire, mi-robot, mi-fétiche polymorphe autour duquel l'artiste invente tout un univers. Son nom, le Fuzz, est une référence à l'album Psychedelic jungle des Cramps. Kriki décline aujourd'hui son Fuzz grâce à divers médias : peinture, sculpture, photographie.

Ainsi dans la série dont est issu le tableau présenté il détourne des tableaux emblématiques de l'histoire de la peinture, Fragonard, Boucher, Rubens.... qu'il réinterprète à travers la figure de Fuzz.

As the founder, in 1984, of the Nuklé-Art painting collective and the electro-punk band Les Envahisseurs, Kriki embodies punk culture in contemporary French art. With the streets and the metro as his art school, he participated, starting in 1984, in the emergence of what is now known as Street Art. 

From the very beginning, Kriki was recognized as one of the iconic figures of French painting in the 1980s. Kriki established an immediately recognizable style on the international scene, making him one of the major artists of his generation.

In 1985, Kriki created Fuzz, an imaginary character—half-robot, half-polymorphic fetish—around whom the artist built an entire universe. The name “Fuzz” is a reference to the Cramps’ album *Psychedelic Jungle*. Today, Kriki explores his Fuzz character across various media: painting, sculpture, and photography.

Thus, in the series from which the presented painting is taken, he reimagines iconic works from the history of painting—by Fragonard, Boucher, Rubens, and others—reinterpreting them through the figure of Fuzz.
