Cette Golf GTI 1600 a été préparée en 2003 en Italie en version Groupe 2 par le spécialiste renommé Andrea Zanghellini, pour courir en rallye moderne. Par la suite, tout en gardant la même configuration, elle a été utilisée en Italie en rallyes VHC historiques. Dans le cadre de sa préparation, la voiture a été équipée d'un arceau en conformité FIA (avec certificat au dossier) et son habitacle a été complètement dépouillé et réaménagé avec sièges baquets et harnais. Alimenté par deux carburateurs Weber de 40, le moteur est en configuration Groupe 2 et développe environ 160 ch. Accolée à un pont autobloquant, la boîte de vitesses, très rare et performante, est une version Zanghellini Groupe 2 à rapports rapprochés. Le système de freinage comporte à l'avant de rares étriers Lockheed.

 

Dotée d'une rampe de phares et accompagnée de son PTH (Passeport Technique Historique) italien d’époque, cette Golf GTI Groupe 2 est éligible aux plus beaux rallyes historiques, dont le Tour de Corse. Forte d'une vraie préparation d'époque, facile à entretenir, très performante dans sa catégorie pour un budget raisonnable et très rare dans cette configuration, elle constitue un excellent moyen d'assouvir sa passion du rallye au volant d'une concurrente sérieuse.

This Golf GTI 1600 was prepared for modern rally racing in Italy in 2003 as a Group 2 version by renowned specialist Andrea Zanghellini. Keeping the same configuration, it was later used in Italy in historic VHC rallies. As part of its preparation, the car was fitted with an FIA-compliant rollbar (with certificate on file) and its interior was completely stripped down and refitted with bucket seats and harnesses. With two Weber 40 carburettors, the engine is in Group 2 configuration and develops around 160 hp. Coupled with a self-locking axle, the gearbox is a rare, high-performance Zanghellini Group 2 version with short ratios. The front braking system features rare Lockheed callipers.

 

Equipped with a headlight ramp and its vintage Italian HTP (Historic Technical Passport), this Group 2 Golf GTI is eligible for the finest historic rallies, including the Tour de Corse.
