Compte tenu des différents autocollants et badges que porte cette voiture, l'on peut penser qu'elle a été utilisée pour participer à divers rallyes en Italie, et qu'elle a donc passé dans ce pays la majeure partie de son existence. C'est son attrayant état d'origine qui a séduit son actuel propriétaire, collectionneur passionné de Lancia basé en Allemagne, qui en a fait l'acquisition en 2016. La peinture correspond à une restauration ancienne et les chromes d'origine sont très bien conservés. A l'intérieur, la sellerie en cuir rouge est magnifique et le tableau de bord en tôle peinte est impeccable, derrière le beau volant bois. Le moteur a été récemment refait par Touring Garage, spécialiste réputé basé à Bonn.

La Lancia B50 est un modèle particulièrement rare. Le châssis réalisé par Lancia se prêtait parfaitement aux réalisations de carrossiers, dont Pinin Farina était un des plus brillants. Son élégant dessin aux ailes effilées en fait un des cabriolets les plus attrayants de sa catégorie, son moteur 6-cylindres lui assurant un fonctionnement souple et agréable. D'ailleurs, lors de notre essai sur route, le V6 s'est montré très doux, de même que la boîte de vitesses et la voiture est accompagnée d'une agréable sonorité à la fois sourde et sportive. Avec ses quatre places sous capote et son coffre de bonne taille, cette voiture est idéale pour les balades en famille ou avec des amis. Rare et originale, elle représente la quasi-certitude de ne pas en croiser d'exemplaire identique lors des évènements historiques auxquels elle est éligible et dont font partie les Mille Miglia.

The various stickers and badges on this car suggest that it was used to take part in various rallies in Italy, and has spent most of its life there. It was its attractive original condition that seduced its current owner, a passionate Lancia collector based in Germany, who bought it in 2016. The paintwork is consistent with an older restoration and the original chromes are very well preserved. Inside, the red leather upholstery is magnificent and the painted sheet-metal dashboard is in very nice condition, behind the handsome wooden steering wheel. The engine was recently rebuilt by Touring Garage, a renowned specialist based in Bonn.

The Lancia B50 is a particularly rare model. Lancia's chassis lent itself perfectly to coachbuilders' creations, of which Pinin Farina was one of the very best. Its elegant, tapered-wing design makes it one of the most attractive convertibles in its class, while its 6-cylinder engine runs beautifully smoothly. When we tested it, the V6 was very smooth, as was the gearbox, and the car has a pleasant sound that is both muted and sporty. With four soft-top seats and a good-sized boot, this car is ideal for outings with family or friends. Rare and original, you almost certainly won't come across another identical model at any of the events for which it is eligible, including the Mille Miglia.
