Comme l'indique son carnet de garantie d'origine, cette Ferrari F40 a été vendue neuve en juin 1990 à un amateur de Madrid via l'importateur Ferrari Import Espanola. Après un deuxième propriétaire portugais, elle a été achetée en 2009 par un collectionneur ingénieur qui rêvait depuis toujours de ce modèle, mais qui se trouvait à plus d'un millier de kilomètres du garage Ferrari le plus proche... Il habite en effet à 50 km du cercle polaire arctique et a pu enfin assouvir son espoir de jeunesse. Attentif à bien préserver sa voiture, il ne l'a utilisée que pendant les quatre mois d'été, la conservant le reste du temps dans un garage chauffé. Lors de son achat, la F40 avait parcouru 22 000 km et elle affiche maintenant 30 660 km. Pour une plus grande fiabilité, le propriétaire a fait changer l'alternateur au profit d'un élément plus moderne, et il a remplacé les réservoirs d'essence type aviation par des éléments en aluminium. Les composants d'origine pourront être remis en place lors d'une prochaine révision. Le carnet d'entretien montre les révisions effectuées en 2000 et 2002 en Espagne chez Maranello Rosso et celle des 24 000 km, réalisée en 2009 dans un garage spécialisé de Göteborg, en Suède, indique un remplacement des courroies et poulies de distribution.
Cette voiture ayant assez peu roulé, elle est bien préservée dans sa teinte rouge d'origine. L'intérieur est impeccable, les sièges à coque en carbone ayant été refaits avec soin à la demande du propriétaire actuel car le tissu s'était légèrement détendu avec le temps.
Affichant aujourd'hui 30 660 kms, cette F40 est livrée avec son carnet d'entretien et son manuel technique, sa trousse à outils d'origine et un jeu de valises Schedoni en cuir beige, de toute beauté. Son faible kilométrage et sa superbe présentation font hommage à cette F40 et à ses performances hors du commun, basées sur une coque composite, un moteur 3 litres double turbo développant près de 500 ch et un profilage aérodynamique particulièrement travaillé : une berlinette exceptionnelle à tous points de vue.

As indicated in the original warranty booklet, this Ferrari F40 was sold new in June 1990 to an enthusiast from Madrid, through the Ferrari importer Import Espanola. Following a period with a second owner in Portugal, it was bought in 2009 by an engineer collector. It had been his lifelong dream to own an F40 even though he was more than 1000 km from the nearest Ferrari garage… In fact he lives just 50 km from the Arctic Circle and was finally able to realise his childhood dream. Wanting to take the utmost care to preserve his car, he only took it out during the four months of summer, storing it in a heated garage for the rest of the year. When he bought it, the F40 had covered 22 000 km and the mileage stands at 30 660 km today. For greater reliability, he upgraded the alternator to a more modern version, and also replaced the aviation type fuel tanks with aluminium ones. The original components can be replaced during a future service. The log book records that this F40 was serviced in 2000 and 2002 by Maranello Rosso in Spain. In 2009, at 24 000 km, the service was completed by a specialist garage in Gothenberg, Sweden, when the timing belts and pulleys were replaced.
Having been so little used, this car remains in well preserved condition in its original red livery. The interior is impeccable, and the carbon fibre seats have been expertly re-covered at the request of the current owner as the fabric had stretched slightly over time.
With 30 660 km on the clock today, this F40 is complete with its log book and technical manual, original tool kit and a stunning Schedoni luggage set in beige leather. With low mileage and in superb condition, this F40 with its extraordinary performance is displayed at its best. Based on a composite shell, with a 3-litre twin turbo engine producing nearly 500 bhp and a well-designed aerodynamic shape, this is an exceptional berlinetta in every way.
