On 26th October 2022, Artcurial will be presenting a completely new auction, entitled Generation 21 by Artcurial focusing on the 21st century. It will encompass the current contemporary art scene and its various niches, such as urban art and contemporary African art, which Artcurial has been successfully developing over the past few years.
Artcurial has always sought to offer an innovative and original approach through its sales, treating them as real thematic projects – C.R.E.A.M. and Outsider(s) are two such examples. Our teams have always championed and given prominence to artworks from artists such as Joyce Pensato, Aboudia, Godwin Champs Namuyimba, Banksy, Tadashi Kawamata, Mike Lee and Kaws.
The Generation 21 by Artcurial auction will take place during the most important week for contemporary art in Paris, which will include the first ever edition of Paris + by Art Basel. Thus, the sale will be a reflection of the dynamism of the current art scene and the enthusiasm of collectors for both young, emerging artists and well-established, contemporary artists alike. Centred on a fine collection of three works by the Spanish artist Edgar Plans and a superb canvas from the Canadian artist Matthew Wong, both of whom have seen prices for their work shoot up in recent years, Artcurial’s specialists are keen to respond to the growing demand of collectors for international contemporary art.
An auction at the heart of Parisian artistic life
The Generation 21 by Artcurial auction will take place at the Hôtel Marcel Dassault on the Champs-Élysées, in the very heart of an artistic circuit created on the occasion of Paris + by Art Basel.
The artworks will have pride of place in a specially designed exhibition, open to the public for 5 days prior to the sale, enabling the many international collectors present during this period to view them.
Our specialists are at your disposal for any free and confidential valuation if you wish to include in this sale your artworks by artists such as Robert Nava, Jordy Kerwick, Javier Calleja, Claire Tabouret, Oli Epp or Yoshitomo Nara.
