A partir des années 1960, certains petits constructeurs se lancent dans la production de voitures au style "rétro". En Italie, Siata n'hésite pas à se lancer en 1967 dans une telle aventure, sous l'impulsion de Renato Ambrosini et André Chardonnet. Ils vont donner naissance à la Spring, sur base Fiat 850 à moteur arrière, avec calandre factice et forme démodée. La production se limitera à quelques milliers d'exemplaires, ce qui en fait aujourd'hui une voiture rare.
Comme les autres voitures de la collection Catimini, cette Siata Spring n'a quasiment pas roulé depuis presque vingt ans. Achetée en Corse en 1993, son compteur affichait 54 250 km en 1995 et il en montre aujourd'hui 54 320, soit 70 de plus. Des travaux de restauration ont été effectués au début des années 1990 en mécanique, tôlerie, peinture et sellerie, si bien que l'état de la voiture est très satisfaisant. De couleur bleu-mauve, ce joli roadster est doté d'une capote noire en bon état, d'une sellerie en skaï gris gansé bleu avec moquette bleu marine et d'un tableau de bord en bois vernis, option d'époque. Voiture ludique et originale, la Spring permet de profiter d'une conduite cheveux au vent, les portes échancrées apportant l'indispensable support du coude à la portière !

In the 1960s, certain smaller manufacturers started to produce retro-style cars. In Italy, Renato Ambrosini and André Chardonnet were behind the move by Siata to join in the adventure in 1967. The " Spring " was born, based on the rear-engined Fiat 850, with false grille and old-fashioned styling. Production was limited to a few thousand examples, making this a rare car today.
Like the other cars in the Catimini Collection, this Siata Spring has hardly turned a wheel in nearly twenty years. Bought in Corsica in 1993, the odometer read 54,250 km in 1995, a figure which has gone up to 54,320 today. Restoration work was carried out at the start of the 1990s, to the engine, bodywork, paintwork and upholstery, so the condition of the car is very good. Presented in blue-mauve, this pretty roadster has a black hood in good condition, grey braided leatherette upholstery, a marine blue carpet and avarnished wood dashboard, a period option. An unusual, fun car, the Spring provides enjoyable open-top driving, with shaped doors allowing the indispensable support for an elbow!
