In 2015, Artcurial Monaco SAM opens, under the direction of Louise Gréther, making the Principality a place of reference.
The opening of our offices in the heart of Monte Carlo enables Artcurial to be present throughout the year in the Principality, and more widely, on the Côte d'Azur. Louise Gréther regularly organises meetings for inventories, valuation days and cultural events in Monaco and in the region.
Artcurial organises a week of luxury sales in the summer and winter, around specialities such as Jewellery, Collector Timepieces and Vintage Hermès, thereby concentrating its luxury pole in Monaco. These annual events have become essential for enthusiasts and collectors from around the world.
In the image of exceptional past sales, Artcurial can, depending on the opportunity, orchestrate various specialty auctions in the Principality, such as the remarkable set from HSH Prince Rainier III of Monaco’s car collection or the very beautiful collection of Philippe Hiquily sculptures.
The Artcurial specialists are at your disposal to meet throughout the year in Monaco for complimentary and confidential valuations in all the areas covered by the House, ranging from Contemporary Art, Furniture and Art Objects to Ancient Paintings, Design or Collector’s Cars.
Artcurial Monaco joins the list of international offices and reinforces the European network of Artcurial together with Germany, Austria, Belgium and Italy.

Louise Gréther is British and holds a masters degree in political science from the University of Edinburgh and a degree in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Passionate about art and culture since her teenage years, her international career provided an opportunity to work in different fields across a diverse geographical region.
She started her career working for the European Union and O.S.C.E on international election observation missions and then moved to London to work for an American consulting firm where she was a director in their business intelligence and investigations practice.
She is now based in Monaco, a place she has been closely connected to for over 15 years. Her business background and international profile seduced Artcuial and as director of the new office in Monaco she has turned her passion into her profession.
Dazzling diamonds, rare pocket watches, an irresistible ladies’ watch selection and a colourful selection of Hermès vintage bags are among the star lots presented in our prestigious Monaco winter sales. Louise Gréther, the director of our Monaco office, picks out her favourite pieces.
In 2019, Artcurial, leading French auction house, confirms its position of major international player in the art market and totals €203.1 m, +4% compared to 2018.
The Impressionist & Modern sale was dominated by the exceptional painting Te Bourao (II) by Paul Gauguin, the last artwork still in private hands of a major nine paintings cycle painted in Tahiti and sent to Paris in 1898 as part of an exhibition dedicated to the artist at the Ambroise Vollard gallery. The oil on canvas reaches €9,553,200, almost twice its estimate.
