Post-War & Contemporary Art

Artcurial is at the forefront of the international artistic scene

The Post-War & Contemporary Department, under the complementary management of Karim Hoss & Hugues Sébilleau, achieve for many years remarkable results for works ranging from 1945 until today.

Karim Hoss, with a 15-year experience as an art dealer and private dealer, incorporated the Post-War & Contemporary Department in 2014. He joined Hugues Sébilleau who dedicated his expertise and knowledge about the Contemporary art market to Artcurial’s since 2004, after a few years spent in Francis Briest auction house and financial market.

“We wish to bring both our experiences in skill and expertise to Artcurial’s Post-War & Contemporary Department and we take pride in good customer care and follow-through. Indeed, selling or buying a work of art requires today more knowledge and information. Counseling is an essential part of our business and we want all our clientele to benefit from it”.

The Post-War & Contemporary Department seeks to promote and develop the market of French artists within different artistic movements (Abstraction, Narrative Figuration and New Realists) but also to achieve significant bids for international artists. Highlighting the qualities of a work of art, preparing the sale and searching for new buyers have enabled the Post-War & Contemporary Department to maximize results, with 4 auctions a year, and thus, participate to the promotion of Artcurial as one of the major players of the art market in Europe since its creation in 2002.
